CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINU"~~~5 ~QR' ~~~~~ ME~T~NQ• <br />Dote = February 20 , 1974 <br />'Tjme Z -8:05 P.M. <br />PIOCe; Veterans Memorial Building <br />The northern route (Station F) would <br />minimize walking for those people in <br />that area and would serve the Valley <br />Memorial Hospital site . <br />Station F would be a more attractive <br />alternative if congestion occurs at <br />the regional center station (Station <br />D) This would depend upon the <br />quality of feeder bus service from <br />the San Ramon Valley. Projections <br />for traffic on Foothill Road is for <br />,:40,000 cars per day at peak hours. <br />I,The southern route would probably <br />'serve bike riders better than the <br />,northern route . <br />',That concluded Mr. Bla_yney's comments <br />Next, Mr. Korve of De Leuw Cather <br />Company spoke. He indicated that <br />with the cut-and-cover method, the <br />SPRR could be freed through Pleasan- <br />ton and could utilize the BART con- <br />struction as an instrument to realize <br />the relocation of their tracks. If <br />this route is not taken, the railroad <br />consolidation becomes much more dif- <br />ficult and more costly. This would <br />be a significant benefit to Pleasanto <br />~Mr. Howard Goode, Project Manager of <br />BART was then introduced by Mr. <br />Blayney. <br />Chairman Pereira then invited ques <br />from the floor. <br />Mr. Bill Hirst, 147 Bernal Avenue, <br />referred to consideration at one time <br />of an intermediate route , which he <br />understands has been abandoned. .Mr. <br />Blayney indicated the main reason was,, <br />that a station out by the radum "Y'° <br />-4- <br />s <br />\\ <br />~~~\ <br />_,..__... . _._,... ........ _r._.._.. _.. ~..._ .. _._...... <br />
