He indicated,
that from the point of increased tax-
ation for Pleasanton, that he is at
a loss at this time to know what to
do.
Chairman Pereira emphasized that the
selection of the route without cost
concern is the key issue at this poin
Commissioner Carrigan stated, that he
could not remember a tougher decision
that he is worried about the cost
factor. He can see benefits for the
southern route but that it would have
to be underground. He had concerns
regarding availability of parking,
the need for adjusting certain traf-
fic areas, how traffic would be fed
from the station. In addition, noise
consideration for the areas running
along I-680. He further felt a 20- ~,
acre parking lot at Station D is un-
realistic.
';Chairman Pereira stated that a decisi
;;would need to be made, regardless.
~!
Commissioner McLain felt there are
~ several matters of concern to him.
~,If the Commission makes a decision
;that evening and the BART board picks
~ the alternate per cost factors, best
i'service potential, etc., it would
'seem to him that he is not sure wheth
'the Amador-Livermore Valley will get
the rail at all. Also, the noise
element. This will increase the cost
of the southern route whether tunnele
across or not. He could not give his
sanction to a route which would•excee
r
a\\\
\~\\\
~»~~»~
-14
.. ....... __..-T---___. . .
