His family owns 350 acres north of i-580. His property is on either side of Fallon Road. Their basic assessed value is almost $4,000 per acre and he wanted to know how this would compare with the rest of the Valley. ..The Chairman indicated that this question should be directed to the Assessor's Office. Mr. McFarland felt that if the southern route is chosen, the people in the upper part of the Valley would oppose it. He too felt that only if the southern route is undergrounded would it gain any kind of acceptance. He felt that .Station J would not be in the best interest of the Valley. Mr. McFarlan was told that his property falls ;within the Livermore General Plan boundaries, that perhaps his position 'should be made known to that juris- ~diction. 1Mr. Bob Butler spoke next. He indi- cated that there are two recommenda- jtions involved - (1) the extension ;won't come until patronage is needed. The real "name of the game" is com- ~;muting. (2) the greatest concern is what are the positive aspects of BART to Pleasanton? Mr. Butler considered '..Station D to be a key hub to this whole system in the Valley. He does not see any problem that the people north of I-580 will not be well serve by Station D, and the Pleasanton community could be well served by the southern route. However, Station J may not be the best location. Mrs. Bob Butler then spoke.
