He found
inconsistencies in some of the state-
ments made by Mr. di Manto earlier
with respect to the holding capacity
of the General Plan in the area which
would be served by Station F. Re-
garding the railroad tracks in the
downtown area, the people who live
on the other side of First Street
(3,000-5,000) could find themselves
completely cut off from fire and/or
police services on occasion. He
stated that he is a member of the .
BART Citizens Committee and they
had recommended the southern route
with the thought in mind that if
conditions ch ange in the area north
of I-580, further consideration be
given to the northern route. He
felt that many people who would be
interested in the southern route
,would only consider it if it is
underground.
~jThe Chairman indicated that environ-
(~mental impact reports would have to
Abe submitted on the effects of over-
head as well as underground routes.
IjRight now, perhaps, discussions
!should be directed more to a route;
'also, that due consideration must be
given for services for the entire.
Valley area.
Mr. di Man to wished to clarify the
statement made by Mr. Madden regard-
ing the holding capacity under the
General Plan relating to his state-
ment of approximately 100,000 res-
dents utilizing Station D, etc. He
stated that that estimate was made
by Mr. Blayney at the Walnut Grove
School meeting.
-11-
\\~
~~»»~~
i
I ' ~
'~ I
L._ i. _ I___ l
