X 4 f~
of samples in his garage. He also
has small catalogues to show to his
customers. He wholesales accounts
~iin San Francisco, etc., and at this
'time, is strictly independent, Pre-
viously, he used to housepaint, but
is attempting to break into the in-
terior decorating field, which at
this time, is his primary occupation.
Mr. Lyon conceded that some of his
activities could have caused some
concern among his neighbors, who were
the prime source of objecting to his
establishing the business from his
home. He had done some woodworking
for relatives and friends, and inad-
vertently had done so occasionally
late into the night. This caused
some of his neighbors to take a nega-
tive approach when advised of his
desire to establish the home occupatic
The Commissioners did not feel that
the cabinetry work as a hobby is out
of line, but advised Mr. Lyon that
this should not be done at unreason-
able hours. In addition, Chairman
Pereira wished to clarify for the
records that the carpet samples and
catalogues would not be so extensive
as to constitute falling in the cate-
gory of "storing materials" on the
premises.
Mr. Bob Sturney, 2523 Willowren Way,
a neighbor, spoke. He told the Com-
mission he would not object to the
home occupation if it consisted of
phone and bookkeeping work. But, he
further described some of the late
d
.n.
-6-
