He did not want a furniture <br />factory next door. <br />In addition, he wished to know what <br />recourse he would have to abate noise <br />disturbance which should occur. He <br />was advised that this would fall in <br />ithe category of "disturbing the peace <br />and the Police Department could be <br />'notified. He was further told that <br />if this permit is approved, and it <br />proves to be a cause of disturbance <br />in the neighborhood, then the resi- <br />dents should advise the Housing and <br />Community Development Department of <br />it to bring this permit back before <br />the Commission . <br />Mr. Lyon assured the Commission that <br />it was not his intend to antagonize <br />his neighbors, that he does not in- <br />tend to go into custom cabinet build- <br />'ing since it is not profitable, but <br />'is merely attempting to get into the <br />interior decorating business. In <br />addition, he had been advised by the <br />Board of Equalization to get clearance <br />through the City. His merchandise is <br />sold in San Francisco and that is <br />where he takes his clients. <br />In addition, a friend of Mr. Sturney <br />was present at the hearing that eveni~ <br />and admitted that during the times he <br />had visited the Sturney residence, he <br />did hear a lot of noise and had ob- <br />served a large stack of wood in the <br />driveway of Mr. Lyons' residence. <br />~g <br />-7- <br />
