CITY of PLEASANTON
`` Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGte : July 10 , 19 74
Time : 8 : 24 P . M.
PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT
UP-74-13, Denied,
Res. 1304
H. C. Elliott, Inc. - application fo
a conditional use permit to allow
the construction of four model homes
and a parking area at 560, 568, 576,
584 and 592 Tawny Drive, Pleasanton;
zoning for the property is R-1-6500
(Single Family) District.
Commissioner Carrigan wished to
know what the purpose was for allow-
ing H. C. Elliott to construct the
models only for contractors' viewing.
Mr. John Bowling, Director of Housing
and Community Development, referred
to his letter of June 5, 1974 to Mr.
Elliott, stipulating the conditions
under which he would be allowed to
construct his models; that there
would not be water and sewer avail-
able. All this is in accordance
with the applicant's understanding
and consent.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Mr. Harry Elliott, Jr., was present.
He explained the reason why he felt
it would be advantageous to Elliott
to have these models available for
contractors' viewing. They antici-
pate issuance of building permits
with the opening of the Sunol plant
land in anticipation of subdivision
.development following the opening,
(they wanted to have additional time
Ito construct their model home com-
plex. Mr. Elliott indicated no
problems with the recommendations
in the staff report, or the require-
ments to be adhered to as stipulated
in Mr. Bowling's June 5, 1974 letter.
Commissioner Wood pointed out the
problem of vandalism and fire pro-
tection as some inherent problems
stemming from allowing such a situa-
tion to exist. Commissioner Wood
-2-
Resolution
Seconded:
Ayes
Noes
Absent:
Abstain:
X
_r._ _.. _. . -- _ .
