4~'~ y
~BAN~° CITY of PLEASANTON
__ o
•
~MYfO
Planning
Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEET ING.
Dote : August 14, 1974
Time : 8:13 P.M.
PIOCB; Pleasanton Justice Court
Considerable discussion ensued on t
two points to be resolved in that
report.
Reaffirmation of the role of the
Zoning Administrator was made by
Chairman Pereira. Some discussion
occurred between Commissioner Wood
and Chairman Pereira on the differ-
ences in the roles of the Zoning
Administrator as defined in Pleasan-
ton and Alameda County.
Chairman Pereira felt that the Board
of Adjustment has been an effective
and efficient body and could not
see where it should be dissolved and
that role assumed by the Board of
Appeals. Up to the present time,
that Board has never met because of
lack of work.
Secretary Harris explained that the
August 14, 1974 staff report is his
understanding of the consensus of
feeling from those present at the
joint Commission/Council meeting of
June 3, 1974.
The City Attorney indicated that it
is Council's position that since the
Board of Appeals has nothing to do,
and since that Board cannot be
dissolved due to building infraction
and possible resultant hearings on
them, Council feels that that Board
should take on the added role of
a zoning appeals board as well.
How this change would affect the wor
load of the Planning staff was dis-
cussed.
The Commission did not wish to say
they did not support the intent, but
if it is adding to staff work, or
-8=
