CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGte : August 14, 1974 <br />Time ; 8 :13 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice :G~ourt <br />Discussion ensued on various methods <br />the City could utilize to raise fund <br />ing to accomplish the revitalization <br />of the downtown. <br />Also present was Mr. Dick Braden of <br />MacKay and Somps, who verified from <br />Mr. Bowling, that the incremental <br />increase from any portion of the <br />project area, which would include <br />the regional shopping center, could <br />be directed only to the project area. <br />Commissioner McLain wished to know <br />why the VCSD sewage plant was in- <br />cluded in the survey area. Mr. <br />Bowling replied that there was no <br />specific reason at this time, but <br />that the City did not know what coul <br />be contrib uted to the redevelopment <br />plan at some future time . Also, <br />there is some park property around <br />the plant and it would be difficult, <br />under those circumstances, to ex- <br />clude it. <br />The Chairman verified from Mr. Bowlin <br />that meetings with the downtown <br />merchants , property owners and the <br />Chamber of Commerce will be held. <br />Mr. Bowling indicated that the <br />Commission would have to hold a <br />special meeting to select the pro- <br />ject area(s) and accept the p re- <br />liminary plan for referral to the <br />City's Redevelopment Agency. <br />Some discussion followed on a suitab <br />meeting date and it was left to staf <br />to set up a meeting as soon as possi <br />ble to accomplish this. <br />Planning Commission Workload - the <br />staff report dated August 14, 1974 <br />was discussed. <br />-7- <br />
