No <br />one spoke to this application and <br />the Public Hearing was closed. <br />A resolution recommending approval <br />of the changes in the C-S zoning <br />district with the two modifications <br />noted in the foregoing, was entered <br />and adopted for referral to City <br />Counci 1. <br />Summary of the Redevelopment Process <br />in Pleasanton. <br />Director of Housing and Community <br />Development, John Bowling explained <br />the procedures and timetable to be <br />observed in establishing the rede- <br />velopment areas for revitalization <br />of the downtown. <br />Mr. Bowling explained the objectives <br />of the downtown development, which <br />they hope to make definite strides <br />forward before the shopping center <br />is established. <br />The area to be designated for rede- <br />velopment has to be declared a <br />blighted area. The City Council was <br />appointed as the Redevelopment Agency <br />Mr. Bowling explained the schedule <br />of hearings and meetings with the <br />public in order to accomplish the <br />redevelopment process, which the <br />City intends to complete by the <br />end of November, 1974. <br />:r. Bowling also explained the rede- <br />elopment law and how the City can <br />.raw their State incremental fund- <br />ng beginning July 1, 1975, if all <br />equirements have been met. <br />-6- <br />r <br />
