4V~~8A"~°y CITY of PLEASANTON
.~,
`~ ~~~° Planning Commission
MMiO
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGtB : November 13, 1974
Time : 8:22 P.M.
PICCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Mr. Rose explained that School Dis-
tricts must justify their non-use
of a school site or pay a penalty.
Discussion followed on what options
the District would have - should
development take place in the
future - to acquire school sites,
and availability of other sites to
serve the area in question.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Commissioner McLain was concerned
over the predicament the City is
in, in attempting to handle both
"growth" and "no growth. " He felt
that if the area did develop later,
and since multiples are slated in
the area, what will happen. Iie
suggested possible Study District
for the site. As far as the
developer is concerned, right at
this time he cannot build any way.
The Chairman felt that if the land
went into a Study District, the
best that could happen would be a
delay of a year and 30 days or so,
and that would not be sufficient
time to solve the problems in the
City. Also, Mr. Harris stated that
placing property in Study District
would not preclude residential de-
velopment according to the Code.
Again, he wished to clarify that the
zoning on the site is R-1-6500. City
Attorney Scheidig also clarified that
it would be difficult to place this
property in Study District since the
mechanism to do this is in the zoning
itself. This could not apply in
this case since Study Districts are
only for study of property suggested
for another zoning district, rather
than a general plan amendment.
-g __ __.. ___~ ..._..._r__
...---.,._....._.._---..~...~._..__..__.___._._.~. ..._.. ... ..,...___...__T_.__-...._.... ,.. _....._._. _......._.... .._.......__.
