He referred to the State
Subdivision Map Act wherein school
districts have 30 days after require
ment for dedication is imposed in
order to decide whether or not to
purchase the site. The map was
approved on March 20, 1972, and so
far, the School District has not
acted on this matter. Hence, the
developer is requesting a change
from Schools to Medium Density Resi-
dential. Mr. Scheidig concluded by
stating that the City has no legal
mechanism and that it would be up
to the School District and the
developer to arrange something
amicable .
Mr. Doug Rose, Assistant Superin-
tendent of Pleasanton Joint School
District spoke of the dilemma
facing the School District because
of the sewer woes. They are caught
in limbo and cannot justify spending
money to acquire school sites, when
there is no guarantee that there
will ever be children to use them.
Resolution
Seconded:
Ayes
Voes:
Absent :
Abstain
-7-
