Planning Commission
..o
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date : November 13, 1974
Time : 8:22 P.M.
PIGCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
important step; also, that the City
has known about this for a long time.
Discussion followed.
Commissioner Doherty asked both the
applicant's representative and Mr.
Martin if a month's time would be
ladequate for this matter to be fur-
ther studied and whether it would
work an unusual hardship on Pleasan-
ton Garbage Service.
Mr. Hirst replied that the contin-
uance would be bad for his client.
The requested change follows what is
shown on the preliminarily adopted
General Plan and he could not see
how it could affect the Martin's
lands.
Mr. Martin, Sr., explained regard-
ing his meetings both with the appli-
cant's legal counsel and with Mr.
Harris.
Mr. Harris explained the difference
between the 1968 General Plan and
the current General Plan revision
as it pertained to this area. The
Martin's property is low density
residential on the 1968 Plan. The
revision shows the sanitary land-
fill site as open space, and the
MartinSas low density residential.
The major difference between the
two plans shows everything to the
east on the current General Plan
as open space. Staff is recom-
mending change to agriculture so
that it will coincide with the
County's zoning. The reason the
staff recommended change to agri-
culture, was to maintain a lower
tax base.
-4-
