M. <br />PIOCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Chairman Wood asked Mr. Harris what <br />was the thinking of Livingston and <br />Blayney showing industrial all the <br />way up to Hopyard Road on the adopte <br />General Plan Revision, without any <br />buffer. He felt it would make more <br />sense in the back of the property. <br />Mr. Harris replied that in talking t <br />representatives from Livingston and <br />Blayney he learned that they felt <br />that the original general plan de- <br />signation of commercial service, <br />office and highway commercial was no <br />longer viable. Also that they <br />(Livingston and Blayney) had never <br />agreed with this designation and <br />that it was shown on the 1968 <br />plan at the City's request. <br />Considerable discussion ensued on <br />the types of uses which should be <br />allowed within the Professional and <br />Administrative Off ices designation. <br />Secretary Harris emphasized that <br />staff feels that it is premature at <br />this time to have this acreage con- <br />verted to offices; also, it was his <br />impression that the Planning Com- <br />mission was concerned about drawing <br />office uses away from the downtown. <br />Commissioner Doherty spoke regarding <br />the road pattern, and whether staff <br />anticipated traffic problems getting <br />across Hopyard Road over to Stone- <br />ridge Drive, etc. Don Sooby, Direc- <br />tor of Engineering Services, stated <br />there would be some limitations for <br />those developments fronting Hopyard <br />Road, such as not allowing driveway <br />access all the way. Regarding Stone <br />ridge Drive, when overcrossing is <br />completed, there will be a signal <br />at Hopyard Road to control traffic. <br />Of course, the traffic situation <br />-13- <br />
