CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />0418 November 13, 1974 <br />Time : 8 :22 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />approximately 1,500 feet south of <br />Highway I-580. <br />Secretary Harris explained the staff <br />report. Where the applicant is <br />requesting 43-1/2 acres of Highway <br />Commercial, at the time this matter <br />is reviewed per the rezoning aspect, <br />the staff will be looking over stric <br />control of the types of uses going <br />in. Mr. Harris indicated that the <br />staff is quite concerned that this <br />area not be opened up for any type <br />of commercial use which could affect <br />the central core area adversely. <br />He feels there are commercial uses <br />which could be compatible, but need <br />to be strictly controlled. He wishe <br />to go on record as being in favor of <br />some PUD-type control over this <br />area. <br />Staff is not convinced that increase <br />office sites are needed within the <br />City at this time. Therefore, the <br />staff recommendation is for approval <br />of the general plan amendment, with <br />the exception that the approximately <br />28-1/2 acres of land shown as pro- <br />fessional and administrative offices <br />be changed to limited industrial. <br />Chairman Wood did not share the same <br />concerns as Mr. Harris regarding de- <br />leting the professional and admini- <br />strative offices. <br />The Public Hearing was opened. <br />Mr. Dick Karn, Bissell & Karn, <br />Engineers, spoke to this applica- <br />tion. A map of the proposal was <br />demonstrated, and Mr. Karn explained <br />the background on this application. <br />Mr. Karn also gave a precise de- <br />scription of the new proposal and th <br />-11- <br />
