gy$A$ANr°y CITY of PLEASANTON
.~, .
~~• Planning Commission
NM^O
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DCtB ; December 11, 1974
Time : 8:18 P.M.
PIOCe; Pleasanton-:Justice Court
intend the l Ines to be as unob true
sive as possible.
This matter has been reviewed by the
SRC, who feel that no lines should
cut across inhabited territory.
Secretary Harris explained that al-
though a very small portion of the
affected area is within Pleasanton
at this time, it is within the plan-
ning area and is shown on the master
plan as open space.
Commissioner Carrigan wished to know '
what happened to the initial proposal
for the line running on the north
side of Stanley Boulevard. Secretary
Harris replied that P.G.&E. indicated
they could not run it on that side
due to the location of the railroad
tracks. '~
Present to speak for P.G.&E. was Mr.
Bob Grant of the General Land Office
in San Francisco. He stated that th
railroad right-of-way is an impedi-
ment, also economics is a factor,
causing a route on that side to be
approximately twice as much as one
on the south of the park boundary.
Mr. Ed Anderson from the San Fran-
cisco Field Engineering Office of
P.G.&E. did the research on this and
was present to answer questions. He
explained that the area on the north
side of Stanley Boulevard is occupie
by four or five railroad tracks and
there is no room for structures.
Going north of the tracks would brin
interference from aggregate operatio
and trouble obtaining vertical clear
ance.
-4-
