CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Data December 11, 1974 <br />Time : 8 :18 P.M. <br />PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Council recommending the full 28-1/2 <br />acres in office use. Felt that City <br />Government should show more good fai <br />Secretary Harris clarified that the <br />applicant has zoning, and all that <br />is needed is to come in with design <br />plans and could begin construction. <br />Commissioner Doherty then asked staff' <br />that based on the 1968 Plan, would <br />the staff feel from a professional <br />planning standpoint if the 12 acres <br />were moved up to where the present <br />Highway Commercial acreage is shown, <br />whether this would be workable. Mr. <br />Harris replied that this was one of <br />the compromises suggested by City <br />Council. The staff would prefer that <br />to placing all the acreage in Office. <br />Commissioner Carrigan then stated <br />that he felt that this particular <br />applicant, because he has not been <br />too assertive regarding his property, <br />now finds that he stands to lose some <br />of the land designations shown on the <br />1968 Plan. <br />It was noted that the increased <br />office designations shown on the pre <br />liminary adopted Plan was devoted <br />primarily to the Valley Memorial <br />Hospital site and the BART station <br />line. <br />Commissioner Butler indicated that <br />there is good rationale for presen- <br />tation as made; that tYie quality of <br />the land developed is important. If <br />the 1968 Plan included 12 acres in <br />the Office designation, then perhaps <br />this should be sent back to the <br />Council with that recommendation. <br />Commissioner Doherty indicated that <br />in that same context, the Commission <br />-13- <br />
