CITY oT PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DC19 : December 11 , 1974
Time : 8:18 P.M.
PIGCB; Pleasanton Justice Court
A motion was offered by Commissioner
Carrigan, seconded by Commissioner
Butler and unanimously carried so
endorsing this document to Council,
together with the findings and recom-
mendations contained in the Community
Concerns Committee memorandum to
Council.
REFFERALS FROM
CITY COUNCIL
GP-74-12, App.
Res. 1330
Willow West General Plan Amendment.
Secretary Harris explained that this
item was referred to City Council
from the Commission and on December
9, 1974, this proposal was reviewed
and subsequently referred back to
the Commission for further review of
the Professional and Administrative
Offices acreage as proposed by Com-
mission.
Considerable discussion ensued re-
garding feasibility of the amount of
acreage devoted to this use, the
anticipated population, conflict witr
the downtown development, etc.
The 1968 Plan shows 63 acres Profes-
sional and Administrative Offices.
The revised 1974 Plan shows 83 acres,
not including the applicant's pro-
posal, which would make a total of
109 acres. It has bothered staff
throughout this review that having sc
much office land available might
foster sketchy development in a "hit
and miss'° fashion. Staff seeks to
establish some realistic land plan-
ning which can be supported by ul-
timate population. (There are no
standards, however, to go by.)
By approving the applicant's request
as petitioned, the office land would
be increased by 33g,
Res..
Sec..
Ayes:
Noes:
Absent:
Abstain:
X
-10-
