CITY of PLEASANTON <br />`e Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />D018 : January 8, 1975 <br />Time : 8:20 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Secretary Harris reminded the Com- <br />mission that in considering this <br />ordinance amendment they should <br />divorce this ordinance initiation <br />from the situation which prompted <br />it (request of Casa Verde Nursery <br />who have maintained a business on <br />property zoned I-P for several years) <br />Commissioner McLain remarked that <br />a lesson can be learned from this <br />particular situation, in that when <br />the Commission is asked to grant a <br />conditional use and it turns out <br />that the use is a compatible one, <br />then it becomes a situation where <br />one is reluctant to return the land '~, <br />to its original use. <br />A motion was then offered by Com- <br />missioner Carrigan, seconded by <br />Commissioner Butler and carried, <br />requesting staff to prepare an ~ <br />ordinance amendment to conditionally <br />allow nurseries in the I-P District.f <br />Mr. Gene Rega, of Casa Verde Nursery, <br />then thanked the Planning Commission <br />since this ordinance amendment would <br />put them in a very favorab le posi- <br />tion to purchase the land. <br />Review of Zoning Status of Land Motion: <br />Encompassed by Annexation No. 66. Seconded: <br />Ayes: <br />The Staff report explaining the Noes: <br />reason for this amendment was self- Absent: <br />explanatory. Abstain: <br />Accordingly, a motion was entered <br />and adopted unanimously asking <br />staff to initiate zoning for the <br />property in the R-1-6500 designation <br />-11- <br />X <br />X <br />
