'"'~°~ CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
D018 : February 13, 1975
Time : 8: oo P.M.
PIOCB: Pleasanton Justice Court
size. But in reality, the terrain
'would not allow this . He asked Don
'Sooby, Director of Engineering Ser-
vices what his opinion was. Mr.
Sooby indicated that from observa-
tion he would concur that the 6,500
sq. ft. lot would not happen, but
without a thorough engineering study
of the area, he could not say for
certain. He would imagine that a
builder going in would be cognizant
of market potential and seek to
build a larger lot size rather than
the minimum amount.
Commissioner Garrigan wished to
reiterate that the R-1-6500 designa-
tion would not, in fact, in this
instance, result in 6,500 square foot.
lot size because of the topography.
Commissioner Doherty then spoke,
referring to the Human Services
Element report recently reviewed
by the Commission. He stated that,
in his heart, he took exception to
the suggestion of preponderance of
smaller lot sizes, etc. He has
seen these citizens present that
night speak against the smaller lot
sizes. Also, that both Don Sooby
and Bob Harris say it probably won't
be built that small. He would be
willing to go R-1-8500.
He then offered a resolution so re-
commending rezoning of the property
to the R-1-8500. This resolution
was seconded by Acting Chairman
McLain with the following vote:
Ayes: Doherty, Noes: Butler,
Garrigan, McLain, Absent: Wood.
The resolution did not receive a
majority vote.
Secretary Harris emphasized the
hillside ordinance requirement
-7-
