CITY of PLEASANTON
`` Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
D018 : March 20, 1975
Time : 8:15 P.M.
PIOCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Mr. Griffin also spoke of the
negative declaration assessment pre-
pared by City staff. He disagrees
with the position taken by the City.
He felt another site would be better.
He further felt that public use of
this site should be eliminated.
Mr. John Fraser, 1486 Kolln Street -
property owner most affected. There
are problems with fast cars on that
access road, litter and also the con-
figuration of the turn, which makes
vehicular maneuverability difficult,
as well as noise and pollution from
vehicles . There was a previous
problem when Kaiser was using that
road, and he did not wish to have a
repeat of that problem.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Considerable discussion ensued b e-
tween Chairman Wood, the other
;Commissioners and City staff, parti-
'Icularly Engineering Services Director
'Don Sooby, regarding the final design
'of Busch Road and availability of
'..improvement funds to complete the
work. Mr. Sooby indicated that
there is a possibility, however, that
Morrison Homes would not cooperate
in dedicating to the City at an
earlier date than originally planne d
the necessary right-of-way to effect
a proper roadway .
Don Sooby explained on a map the
final improvement plans for Busch
Road. The intersection of Santa Rita
and Busch, at its ultimate completion
would be signalized. Further dis-
cussion occurred regarding traffic
volume, methods to ensure greater
safety, etc.
-3-
