This district could be <br />established only in areas having an <br />average slope greater than ten per- <br />cent and in such areas would regulate <br />intensity of development by correla-;', <br />ting density with slope. ~' <br />City Attorney Scheidig stated that h <br />and Secretary Harris had met to dis- <br />cuss the draft ordinance. Since <br />several revisions need to be made, <br />it was Mr. Scheidig's recommendation <br />that the Public Hearing be opened <br />and testimony taken. Staff would <br />then redraft the ordinance showing <br />changes and rationale for them. <br />Commissioner Doherty suggested that <br />other cities be contacted in order t~ <br />ascertain what type of an HPD ordi- <br />nance they may have. He was advised <br />that the counties of Contra Costa <br />and Alameda have responded to that <br />request, so far, but that Mr. <br />Scheidig had not had sufficient time <br />to review them. <br />Mr. Scheidig again expressed the <br />hope that all the Commissioners <br />-7- <br />
