Sec- <br />etary Harris advised that home occu- <br />ations are effective only for a year, <br />fter which they must be renewed. <br />Review of downtown signing. <br />The Chairman complimented the staff <br />for their work in convincing ce rtain <br />downtown merchants to discontinue use <br />of A-board signs. <br />iscussion centered on the signs <br />oing up in all the windows in the <br />hopping centers. Generally these <br />igns are temporary in nature and are <br />ritten on white butcher paper and <br />dvertise specials. Secretary Harris <br />tated that he would like to see the <br />rdinance amended to allow not more <br />han 25~ window coverage for these <br />ypes of signs.
