gy`~8A"~°y CITY of PLEASANTaN
~ ',! •
`~'~~~• Planning Com~ni~sion
~.fM^0 S
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Daie ; August 27, 1975
Time : 7:47 P.M.
Civic Center
Place:
affected by the granting. of .the
conditional use permit, and how the
expansion would affect the condi-
tional use and tie in with design
review of the revised plans. Also,
if appeals are forthcoming, how
would the 90-day closure period
affect this particular case.
In addition, Commissioner Shepherd
requested that Mr. Greenberg once
again recount the occurrences lead-
ing up to the request of his client
for a conditional use permit. Dis-
cussion ensued regarding this phase.
The City Attorney explained staff's
position in this matter.
The Chairman stated that his picture
of the Central Business District did
not include "cut-rate" gas stations.
He did not feel that the decor of
the two plain pump islands added to
the heritage look. As far as re-
quirement for public health and
welfare in the City codes, perhaps
this station should not exist in its
present form and he did not feel
that the public welfare and safety
would be served by expanding this
gas station. He indicated that he
could not make the required findings.
Commissioner Butler asked Secretary
Harris to explain how the most
westerly pump island recommended by
staff on the revised plan would fit
in relation to the heritage tree, a
this was described for him. Com-
missioner Butler further expressed
the opinion that the revised plan,
combined with the conditions for
approval, did carry the potential
for alleviation of the. traffic pro-
-6-
