CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DCte : October 8, 1975
Time : 8:40 P.M.
PIGCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
having discussed the matter with the
manager of the Alpha Beta store .
There being no further comment, the
Public Hearing was closed.
Commissioner Shepherd had no comment
to offer at this time.
Commissioner Butler had several
questions - he felt there was dif-
ference in applicant's and staff's
opinion regarding availability of
commercial properties . Secretary
Harris clarified that the applicant
was referring to the downtown area.
There is considerable potential
there, but this would require re-
cycling. Commission Butler then
referred to mention in the staff
report about a potential public use
for a portion of the property. Will
this occur at the northwestern por-
tion? Mr. Beratlis stated that it
would be at the eastern portion
adjacent to the residential area,
but fronting Valley Avenue. Mr.
Harris wished to clarify that staff
had talked to the public agency in
question and this location was only
one of the sites they are consid-
ering.
Commissioner Carrigan inquired how
the easternmost approximate two acre:
to the rear which also has frontage
on Valley Avenue would be planned.
Mr. Beratlis requested that should
the Planning Commission choose the
alternative recommendation shown in
the staff report, he asked that it
be split two-thirds public and in-
stitutions and one-third commercial.
-2-
___~.___ ~._...... _. ....____._.. ...__ ._..,T...__._... ..
.... __T_. _ .. ...
. _.._ .
