Z ~
Valerie Jones, 4025 Stanley Boulevard urged that the determination be
made against the animal farm. She said they bought an expensive
fly trapper to minimize the flies and it doesn't work.
Edwina Evans, 4025 Stanley Boulevard, spoke stating she is 89 years
old and needs clean air to breathe. She urged denial of the pro-
ponent's request. She said she can't open the windows to her
residence.
Commissioner Lindsey indicated he goes along with the County Health
Department recommendation and felt that the type of use proposed
should not be allowed in a residentially zoned area. He stated he
concurs with staff.
Commissioner Doherty indicated he goes along with the staff report.
He said even if the use is cleaned up, it is not suitable for a resi-
dentially zoned neighborhood. He said, however, it is too bad that
communication between neighbors isn't better.
Commissioner Wilson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey,
that the proposal would not conform to Section 2-6.14 (Conditional
Use), Article 5 (R-1 One Family Residential District of the Ordinance
Code as well as Section 2-5.07.01 of that same code. In addition
this motion supported the recommendation of the County Health Officer.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Resolution No. 2124 was then entered and adopted making the deter-
mination that a conditional use permit cannot be granted for a
commercial farm in an R-1 zoning district.
Commissioner Wilson further stated that the junk yard adjacent to the
property located at 4031 Stanley Boulevard should be looked into.
Commissioner Jamieson supported this statement.
Commissioner Jamieson indicated that a time limit should be set for
abating the animal farm.
A motion was then made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that the proponents of the animal farm have 60 days from the
date of January 13, 1982 in which to abate the use.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Resolution No. 2125 was then entered and adopted giving Ms. Sidhu
sixty days to remove the animal farm.
Commissioner Wilson stated he objects very strongly to approving a
use for an absentee landlord.
The applicant was advised she has 15 days in which to appeal this
decision to the City Council.
-19-
