She urged that the Commission consider the deter- <br />mination carefully in her favor. <br />Commissioner Doherty stated that the property is in an R-1-20,000 <br />District and there are strict regulations regarding the maintaining <br />of animals in that district. <br />Robert Jones, 710 Del Mar, Livermore, property owner of 4025 Stanley <br />Boulevard, said his aunt lives in the house on the back of the pro- <br />perty and the smell is so bad from the rabbits it gets into the <br />house. He said his parents live in the house to the front of the <br />property. He said that three weeks ago on a foggy damp night the <br />foul odors were coming into the house. He said the rabbit farm <br />is 10-15 ft. away from the residences. He said they used to have <br />animals for 4-H but that the stench generated by the Sidhu animal <br />farm is unbearable. He said his aunt is elderly and can't go out- <br />side because of the smell. He said she cannot even open the windows. <br />He said he is the person who called the Health Department regarding <br />this issue and urged the Planning Commission to consider their <br />recommendation and deny the proposed use. <br />Morris Jones, who lives in the front house at 4025 Stanley Boulevard, <br />said there are constant odors. He said Ms. Sidhu's chickens eat his <br />tomatoes as she doesn't even maintain the fences. He said that when <br />he unties his dog he has to chase it so that it doesn't kill the <br />chickens because of the poor condition of the fences. He said they <br />tried to have an outside family dinner in the summertime and <br />couldn't do it because of the stench. He indicated that his other <br />son who is in England now made the complaint. He said there is a <br />sewer, septic tank or something that runs constantly from 4031 <br />Stanley Boulevard. He said the water seeps to his aunt's lawn in <br />the back. <br />Milos Lubner, 767 El Rancho Drive, Livermore, co-applicant of the <br />requested use addressed the Commission. He said they haven't received <br />a single complaint in a year regarding raising rabbits. He said they <br />use the manure in the ground and it cannot be smelled. He further <br />stated he does not understand why this problem is being attempted to <br />be solved here when it could have been worked out by discussion. <br />He said they didn't know anything was wrong until they received a <br />notice from the Health Department. He said there has been discussion <br />about building a fence. He said the dog at 4025 Stanley Boulevard <br />goes into their yard. He said that their farm produces about 10 eggs <br />a day and he hardly calls that commercial enterprise. He said two <br />or three horses on the property would cause more manure than the <br />rabbits and fowl.
