planning Coi~LL<<ission
Minutes 2/10/82
Commissioner Lindsey inquired about the existing railroad tracks.
Mr. Harris stated that the Hacienda Business Park proposes to use
the rail, spurs in the area. He indicated they would still cross
Santa Rita Road.
Commissioner Wilson felt that since the City arrived at a traffic
pattern and the developer is trading property to meet this requirement,
he doesn't have any problem whatsoever in supporting the application
as recommended. Chairperson Getty indicated she concurs with this
comment.
Commissioner Jamieson stated he appreciates the efforts the developers
have gone through. He indicated his only concern is giving up
some residential property.
Commissioner Doherty then addressed the Church's plans for developing
their 15 acre site. Mr. Henkel responded that he is not sure of the
Church's plans.
A representative of the Catholic Church was present stating that
the Church has not drawn up any plans yet and couldn't say whether
the property would house an elementary, high school, or other
institution.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that the approval of cases GP-82-2 and RZ-82-1 would have no
significant adverse effect on the environment because conditions
of project approval would reduce any potential significant adverse
effects to insignificant and therefore recommended the Mitigated
Negative Declaration be adopted.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey,
Wilson and Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2140 was then entered and adopted recommending
the Mitigated Negative Declaration prepared for cases GP-82-2 and
RZ-82-1 as described above be approved.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Doherty recommending that the General Plan designation of an
approximately 3.9 acre parcel of land located on the east side of
Santa Rita Road approximately 250 feet north of its intersection with
the tracks of the Southern Pacific Transportation be changed from
Medium Density Residential to General and Limited Industrial
subject to the conditions shown on the staff report of February 10, 1982.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairperson Getty
Noes: Commissioner Jamieson
Absent: None
Abstain: None
-8-
