Planning Commission
Minutes 2/10/82
Resolution No. 2141 was entered and adopted recommending the General
Plan land use change as motioned for case GP-82-2 be approved.
Commissioner Jamieson indicated he voted no because the public
hasn't been sufficiently informed of the proposal.
A motion was then made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by
Commissioner Wilson that the property described in case RZ-82-1
be rezoned from the "A" (Agricultural) to the I-P (Industrial
Park) District subject to the conditions shown in the staff report
to the Commission dated February 10, 1982.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes:
Noes:
Absent:
Abstain:
Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairperson Getty
Commissioner Jamieson
None
None
Resolution No. 2142 was entered and adopted recommending the
property in case RZ-82-1 be rezoned from the "A" to the I-P
(Industrial Park) District as motioned.
Z-82-14, William A. Hirst
Application of William A. Hirst for design review approval for a
free-standing sign located at 235 Main Street. The property is
zoned C-C/C-O (Central Commercial/Civic Overlay) District.
Mr. Harris explained the staff report and the fact that the sign was
constructed without benefit of any City approvals including a
building permit. Staff is recommending denial because they can
see no reason why one business should be allowed a 4'x8' temporary
fee-standing sign. He said they have had problems with .signing
with regard to other businesses on the property, i.e. "A" frames
and others.
Commissioner Lindsey asked how long this sign has been in existence.
Mr. Harris said for a few months and the City has tried to get the
applicant to remove it or apply for approval.
Commissioner Doherty said he would exempt himself regarding this matter
inasmuch as he is a potential investor for the business it is
advertising.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Jamieson that case Z-82-14 be denied and the sign immediately
removed from the premises.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes:
Noes:
Absent:
Abstain:
Commissioners Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairperson Getty
None
None
Commissioner Doherty
-9-
.~. ... _.,_......., ._... ....1_... _.... .,.
