Planning Commission
Minutes 2/10/'82
Commissioner Doherty said the area is now an eyesore and asked who
has ownership of the apartment complex. Mr. Harris said he believes
it is owned by Mr. Geremia. Commissioner Doherty said that if this
is the case, perhaps Mr. Geremia should come forward and advise the
Commission of his intentions for the area. Chairperson Getty noted
the fact that Mr. Geremia was not present in the audience.
Commissioner Wilson asked if the proposed use is compatible with C-S
zoning. Mr. Harris said, yes, but that in an area of mixed use it
should be carefully considered. Commissioner Wilson said he would
like to continue the matter and get Mr. Geremia in to speak regarding
his plans for the area. Commissioner Jamieson supported this
recommendation.
Commissioner Doherty asked Mr. Rethers if he understood the
recommendation. He suggested that if Mr. Geremia couldn't be
present that he at least express in writing to the staff his
intentions for the entire area.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Jamieson that case UP-82-1 be continued to the Planning Commission
meeting of March. 10, 1982 at the Council Chambers, 200 Bernal Avenue,
for input of Mr. Geremia.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey,
Wilson and Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Case UP-82-1 was then continued to March 10, 1982 as motioned.
GP-82-2 & RZ-82-1, Devcon Development
Application of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland and Devcon
Development, Inc. to amend the General Plan designation of an approximately
3.9 acre parcel of land located on the east side of Santa Rita Road
approximately 250 feet north of its intersection with the tracks of
the Southern Pacific Transportation Company from Medium Density
Residential to General and Limited Industrial and to rezone said
property from the "A" (Agricultural) to the IP (.Industrial Park)
District.
