Commissioner Lindsey expressed sympathy with problems of the <br />local merchants, but has not personally seen the problems. He <br />indicated that video games are here to stay and he believes it <br />would be a good idea to have one or two central locations. He <br />said it is fortunate the City has Brad Hirst's willingness to do <br />everything he can to control this. Commissioner Lindsey said <br />that concerning condition number 5 he would like the use to come <br />back to the Planning Commission in six months for review assuming <br />the use is approved tonight and under those conditions he would <br />be happy to support the application. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Wilson, that the negative declaration prepared for case UP-82-2 <br />be adopted inasmuch as approval of the use would have no adverse <br />significant effect on the environment. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and <br />Chairperson Getty <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Resolution No. 2149 was then entered and adopted approving the <br />negative declaration prepared for case UP-82-2 as motioned. <br />A motion was then made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Jamieson, that the findings enumerated as A through C <br />on the staff report of 3/10/82 to the Planning Commission are made <br />and that case UP-82-2 be approved per the conditions of that report <br />with the following changes: <br />3. That at least one adult supervisor shall be on duty <br />on the premises at all times. After 6:00 p.m. there <br />shall be at least two adult supervisors on duty on <br />the premises on Fridays, Saturdays and preholidays. <br />5. That this use permit is granted for a period of five <br />(5) years. The use permit will be reviewed in six <br />months by the Planning Commission to determine if <br />.additional conditions of operation are necessary. <br />7. The hours of operation of the game room shall be as <br />follows: Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to <br />10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to <br />Midnight; and Sunday 12:00 Noon to 10:00 p.m. <br />Adjustments to the hours of operation will require <br />approval of the Director of Planning and Community <br />Development. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and <br />Chairperson Getty <br />Noes: None <br />Resolution No. 2150 was then entered and adopted approving case <br />UP-82-2 as motioned. <br />-21- <br />_._._.._.__.....T...._..~--______ _._.. <br />
