Planning Commission
Page 4
5/26/82
Mr. Harris explained the staff report. He indicated that this application
did not include the Corral Drive-in because it would eventually be
eliminated and did not include the Southern Pacific Right-of-way.
Commissioner Wilson asked if the single-family lot was used as an office
would the City require parking. Mr. Harris stated they would have to meet
parking requirements or get a variance. He explained that one parking
place is needed for each 300' except for the storage area.
Commissioner Wilson asked that even if-the zoning is finally approved
if the existing tenants could continue their uses.
Commissioner Lindsey asked if the single-family unit could be used as a
single-family residence if the property is rezoned. Mr. Harris stated if
they met the parking requirements they wouldn't have to come back before
the Commission with regard to an office use.
Commissioner Wilson said that he has received telephone calls with regard
to parking. Chairperson Getty indicated that parking had been discussed.
The public hearing was opened.
Andrea LaMantilla, 939 Northrup 5t., San Jose, spoke representing her
parents who own 252 Main Street (.the residence). She said they will meet
the parking requirements for any use proposed. She urged approval of the
rezoning. She said she and fer Father have been cleaning up and restoring
the inside of 252 Main Street and invited the Commission or anyone else who
is interested to take a look. She said as far as the parking is concerned
you can get a car in the back. She said there used to be a large garage
on the back property line. She said this was demolished and parking
could probably even be possible in the front.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner
Lindsey that the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-829 be
recommended for adoption inasmuch as the rezoning of this property would
have no adverse significant effect on the environment.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commisssioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey,
Wilson and Chairperson Getty
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
Resolution No. 2176 was then entered and adopted recommending approval of
the Negative Declaration prepared for case RZ-82-9 as motioned.
A motion was then made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that case RZ-82-9 be recommended for approval per the staff report
of 5/26/82.
_ T
