Planning Commission
Page 2
5/26/82
He suggested that as a public service perhaps the newspapers would be
willing to print a condensed version of the agendas. He said he believed
this would be advantageous to the public atlarge. Mr. Harris stated
that it would be great if the newspapers would do it as a public service.
Commissioner Jamieson then discussed putting them in the newspapers even
if they wouldn't do it as a public service. Chairperson Getty said the
cost would be well over $200 for one publication. Commissioner Jamieson
said he would just suggest a condensed version. He said people do not
look at the legal ad section. Commissioner Lindsey indicated it is really
important to make every effort to notify the public. Chairperson Getty
said it could be printed in the legal section but also on the front page
by a sonopsis.
Commissioner Jamieson said he would like to see an aerial photograph of
the City behind the Recording Secretary's desk similar to what Hacienda
presented. He said it could have an overlay coding the various zoning
of the City. He said orientation is sometimes difficult. Commissioner Doherty
indicated an overlay with zoning and a General Plan would be helpful.
Chairperson Getty indicated that a third overlay could show the areas
of the items to be considered by the Planning Commission.
Mr. Harris stated that taking an aerial with a mylar overlay showing the
General Plan and land use would be quite a lot of work-and while could be
done could not be done immediately. Commissioner Jamieson indicated that
the Finance Director gave a presentation and had a draftsperson with her;
he suggested that perhaps this person could be used to do it. Commissioner
Jamieson indicated that he would like an aerial put up. Chairperson
Getty asked what happened to the aerial that the Commissioners received
sometime back.
Commissioner Wilson said the display should be behind the staff table on
the wall and not the Recording Secretary since he refers to it during
the meetings.
Commissioner Jamieson indicated that on May 22, 1982 the Tri~Valley
Herald ran an article relating to an HUD housing award. He said it wasn't
financed by the State or the Federal Government and is something we should
look into. He explained the square footage of the house stating it could
be expanded. He asked that Mr. Harris- have someone follow up on this.
After discussion of the Planning Commission members the following schedule
was set for the next three months:
Thursday, June 24, 1982
Wednesday, July 28, 1982
Wednesday, August 11, 1982
RZ-82-8, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone approximately .10.4 acres
of land located on the south side of Bernal Avenue extension between the
tracks of the Western Pacific Railroad Company and the Southern Pacific
Transportation Company from the "0" (Office) and "I-P" (_Industrial Park)
District and to prezone approximately 15.0 acres adjacent and to the south
for a total of approximately 25.5 acres to the PUD (Planned Unit
Development)-High Density Residential District or to any other zoning
district consistent with the General Plan.
... ._ _...__. _. __.___. _ .. , ..._ .,_ ,_~_... _.,_... . _. _,__ ... __ _ .
