Commissioner Doherty: Regarding Old Santa Rita Road in the vicinity
of the Madden and Adams developments that the zoning is such that it
doesn't allow for a restaurant or small sandwich shop. He asked the
staff to look into amending the Code to allow for such a facility in
the C-S zoning district and prepare a draft ordinance for consider-
ation.
Chairperson Lindsey: Stated that on the north side of Valley Avenue
between Hopyard Road and Santa Rita Road there is no sidewalk and
this area frequently gets garbage and rubbish. He asked if there
was a requirement for Morrison to put them in at some point.
Commissioner Wilson: The flag pole in front of the City Hall is
leaning about l0~to the east and asked that this be looked into.
Commissioner Jamieson: Asked for a progress on the aerial photograph
the Planning Commission requested at one of their previous meetings.
Mr. Harris responded that he has talked to people mentioned by
Commissioner Jamieson and they will be flying a new aerial and one
will be forthcoming in the near future.
Chairperson Lindsey thanked the Valley Times and the Tri-Valley
Herald for publishing the agendas of the Planning Commission meetings
in the newspapers (they are doing this as a public service as requested
by the Planning Commission).
Bill Jamieson: Asked the staff for an update on the housing article
he presented at the previous Planning Commission meeting. The clerk
stated that the Tri-Valley Herald is looking into this now as it was
an AP dispatch and the source is being checked through their Hayward
office.
Commissioner Jamieson then asked about all of the subdivision signs
accumulating in the north end of town. Mr. Harris explained the
subdivision sign ordinance and that these have been approved.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
RZ-82-6, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone approximately 7.1
acres of land located at the northern terminus of Pleasanton Avenue
from the C-S (Commercial Service) and R-1-6500 (Single-family
Residential) Districts to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-High
Density Residential Districts or to any other zoning district consis-
tent with General Plan.
Mr. Harris explained the staff report and the previous continuance
of this matter so that the cul-de-sacing of St. Johnson Street
could be discussed with regard to the railroad consolidation.
Mr. Harris stated that no plans are available in this regard at the
current time and there is no proposal for the development of the
Deetz property.
-2-
_.. _ _ T
