ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Getty and Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson and Wilson
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Chairperson Lindsey asked if there was an alternate motion on this.
Commissioner Jamieson stated his position has always been that he
cannot support any building over three stories.
Commissioner Doherty asked that since this was denied, perhaps
the applicant might want to return with a new design which would not
exceed 65 feet even if it means going to four-stories. Commissioner
Getty stated that the City Council has the final approval. Mr.
Harris stated it would be treated as an ordinance and it would have
to be appealed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Doherty, that PUD-81-30-4D be approved subject to the staff report
and the first 8 conditions and that the 9th condition be changed
to indicate a structure no more than 65 feet in height.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty and Wilson
Noes: Commissioners Getty, Jamieson and Chairperson Lindsey
Chairperson Lindsey advised the applicant this could be appealed
the City City Council.
Mr. Callahan stated that this is a life safety building which is
not required by code. He stated this includes special smoke vents
in all of the stair wells, special emergency lighting and electrical
and other items which are not required by code until a building
exceeds 8 stories. He further stated that the Fire Chief was
completely satisfied with the proposed laddering system. Mr. Callahan
further stated that he felt it was a severe error on the part of the
Planning Commission to evaluate the project on a 7 foot difference.
Mr. Harris stated that regarding this particular item the Planning
Commission could reopen this matter, 4D, and continue it to the
August 4, 1982 meeting when the Fire Chief could attend and answer
questions.
It was agreed by the Planning Commission that PUD-81-30-4D would
be continued to the meeting of August 4, 1982.
-13-
. _._ ..__ . _. ~........,..~..__..f_, . ___...... _....... _._ .._ . _._ _ .._ ,T_._
