Commissioner Doherty stated he felt each community has its problem
people and that there are a lot of good people in Livermore. He
further stated that there are some who are problems and he stated
he was tired of being dictated to by people who he feels have
been trying to set the Valley back for the last 20 years.
Commissioner Wilson asked Mr. Callahan how many acres are represented
in Phase I of the development. Mr. Callahan stated there are 493
acres. Commissioner Wilson inquired about sewer capacity in the
future and where it will come from. He stated that the buildings
now proposed would use up about a third of their sewer capacity.
His concern is that if a large user came in and used up the remaining
capacity which would stop development, there would be a large
amount of landscaping in undeveloped areas to be maintained at
considerable expense. Mr. Callahan acknowledged this could happen
but stated they are not concerned about it. He stated he feels
there are improvements to the sewer which are on the horizon and
institutional solutions to the sewer that will be resolved within
the next 5 or 6 years. He also stated that he does not feel the
sewer capacity will be used that fast.
Chairperson Lindsey addressed the height problem. He stated he felt
a builder needed some flexibility to proceed with his work and
said that he could support the proposal.
Commissioner Getty stated her agreement with Chairperson Lindsey.
Commissioner Doherty restated his opposition to anything over five
stories or 65 feet in height.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Doherty, that PUD-81-30•, Items 1D, 2D, 3D, 5D, 6D and 7D, be approved
subject to the staff report and the first 8 conditions of the staff
report.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and
Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2198 was then entered and adopted recommending
approval of case PUD-81-30-1D, 2D, 3D, 5D, 6D and 7D as motioned.
A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Chairperson
Lindsey, that PUD-81-30-4D, be approved subject to the staff report
and the 9 conditions of the report.
-12-
