Page 3
The public hearing was closed.
Chairperson Lindsey said he finds it interesting that merchants were
notified and no comments were received. Commissioner Getty said she
wonders if the ordinance as addressed in the notice was misunderstood.
Commissioner Wilson indicated he would like to see the merchants be
allowed to have outdoor sales four times a year as opposed to three
times per year as suggested in the draft ordinance.
Mr. Harris stated that under the current ordinance, outdoor sales
could not take place at all. He indicated further that displays
serve the same purpose as signing and he didn't believe the City
wished to be too liberal in this regard.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner
Jamieson that case RZ-82-10, application of the City of Pleasanton to
amend various sections of the code as they pertain to the outdoor sales
and display of merchandise, be approved as recommended by staff in the
draft ordinance (attached to the staff report) amending it to allow
outdoor sales four times per year instead of three.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson Lindsey
Noes: Commissioner Getty
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2204 was then entered and adopted recommending approval
of case RZ-82-10 as motioned.
GP-82-6, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the General Plan land
use designation of an approximately 8.8 acre site from High Density
Residential to Medium Density Residential, located on the north side
of Valley Avenue, approximately 850 feet west of the intersection of
Santa Rita Road and Valley Avenue. The Planning Commission may
recommend any action regarding the subject property it feels is in
the public interest.
RZ-82-11, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone an approximately
7 acre site from the "A" (Agricultural) District to the R-1-6500
(Single-Family Residential) District or to any other zoning district
consistent with the General Plan, located on the north side of Valley
Avenue, approximately 800 feet west of the intersection of Santa Rita
Road and Valley Avenue.
A negative declaration of environmental impacts for the above
applications will also be considered.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report.
