CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGtB : February 4, 1976
Time ; 8:00 P.M.
PIOC@; Pleasanton Justice Court
Commissioner Butler stressed the im-
portance of completion of the City's
streets, since this was probably the
most pressing, and certainly the most
expensive.
Commissioner Garrigan brought up
several points pertaining to the Plan
Map. As he recalled, completion of
the frontage road south of I-580 may
not become a reality because of the ~
railroad and there could not be a
grade crossing, necessitating either
an overpass or underpass instead. Mr
Sooby indicated no recollection of
this. Commissioner Garrigan then
referred to the reduction of general
plan map land use categories and how
it would affect the industrial area
north of Mohr Avenue. He recalled
that residential and school develop-
ment abutted industrial park zoning
on one side and office area on the
other side. Mr. Harris verified that
the zoning will remain as Industrial ~,
Park. Commissioner Garrigan also
emphasized the importance of completi~
the City's circulation system.
Commissioner Shepherd verified from
Mr. Harris that from the previous
..hearing, the Commission had estab-
'llished that they did not want to be
'pitied to a specific growth percentage
Irate, but that with the flexibility
of the benchmarks divided into 10-
~~,year growth increments and averaged
lat 2~ per year, they could accomplish
the job.
.Regarding Policy Statement #2, Goal
4, Housing: Commissioner Shepherd
',wished to know whether this was just
a general statement of intent or someā€¢
-9-
