4~~~SA1ypOy <br />~~ ~~~. <br />~~e <br />a <br />'~MMfO <br />MINUTES <br />Date <br />Time <br />Place: <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />February 4, <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Pleasanton <br />1976 <br />Justice Court <br />fered an alternative of utilizing the <br />frontage road from I-580 to enter the <br />industrial/commercial complex com- <br />prising Willow West, which should <br />alleviate serious traffic circulation <br />problems existing on both Hopyard and <br />Santa Rita Roads. <br />The Chairman complimented Mr. Savery <br />and his group for being present and <br />offering some sort of alternatives <br />fpr the City to look at. <br />Next, Mr. Bob Pearson, 3590 Churchill <br />Court, spoke. He too expressed con- <br />cern regarding the traffic pattern <br />contained within the draft EIR. He <br />noticed that the draft environmental <br />element of the General Plan also con- <br />~itained this same traffic pattern. <br />'Secretary Harris emphasized that the <br />element is an informational document. <br />It presents alternative land uses and <br />growth rates for the entire planning <br />area. There is no basis that a <br />specific street pattern will follow <br />such an alternative offered. <br />Mr. Pearson then talked about the <br />economic element. He verified that <br />the study, conducted through con- <br />sultants, cost the City $22,500. <br />Mr. Doug Schiel, 4190 Fairlands Drive, <br />President of the Pleasanton Meadows <br />Homeowners Association, also expresses <br />concern regarding the circulation <br />pattern as it ties in with the Willow <br />!West development. He suggested the <br />.frontage road access previously men- <br />tioned by Mr. Savery. <br />INo further testimony was forthcoming <br />and the Public Hearing was closed. <br />-7- <br />
