He did not wish to see com- <br /> mercial taken away from the central <br /> business district. <br /> Commissioner Doherty expressed con- <br /> cern for any uses which may occur <br /> on land west of this property. He <br /> felt it was incumbent to scrutinize <br /> those uses from a compatibility <br /> standpoint. <br /> A resolution was then entered and <br /> adopted recommending to the City <br /> Council the approval of RZ-76-1, <br /> as petitioned. <br />CONDITIONAL USE New Life Fellowship Church - appli- <br />PERMIT cation for a conditional use permit <br />UP- 6- , Approved, to construct and operate a church <br />Res. 1395. and related facilities on an approxi <br /> mately 4.05 acre site located on the <br /> southwest corner of Hopyard Road <br /> and Valley Trails Drive (South). <br /> Zoning for the property is RM-15 <br /> (Multiple Residential) District. <br /> Secretary Harris stated that churche <br /> are a conditionally allowed use in <br /> the R Districts, hence this appli- <br /> cation. Previously, a mortuary <br /> was proposed for this property <br /> but was turned down. At the time <br /> that Council denied the request for <br /> establishment of a mortuary at this <br /> location, they requested that plan- <br /> ning staff review the site to con- <br /> sider zoning it to lower density <br /> residential.
