It is the appli- <br />cant's intent to develop a retail <br />commercial center. Due to its <br />location near existing commercial <br />uses, the staff felt this is an <br />appropriate .use of the land and <br />recommended approval. <br />The Public Hearing was opened. <br />Mr. Jack Bras, local architect, was <br />present to answer questions. <br />The Public Hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Garrigan remarked on <br />the whole zoning process of this are <br />beginning with the original Western <br />Sierra property (now known as Valley <br />Plaza). It was his position that <br />there is enough commercial in that <br />area. However, he did feel that <br />the development of this particular <br />site is logical, under the circum- <br />stances, but that no more commercial <br />development should occur in this <br />
