41'~ y
~$""~° CITY of P'LEASANT~N
~s11' ~ti ; • • ~
.«:o ~ Planning C~annr~nission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Da1B ; March 10, 1976
Time : 8:00 P.M.
PIGCB; Pleasanton Justice Court
Stonedale were never made aware of
this storage yard. A petition with
60 signatures was submitted to the
City requesting that this construc-
tion not be allowed to continue.
Additionally, they requested that the
storage yard area be converted to a
grass area. The denial of the re-
zoning of RZ-76-2, would affect this
case. Had Commission voted to rezone
the property noted under RZ-76-2 to
single family, this storage yard
would be isolated from the townhouse
development. Staff indicated another
location along Gold Creek in the
area currently zoned multiple which
some people thought would be more
appropriate.
Staff's position is that there is
no other location which would be
overwhelmingly better and since the
developer has already expended
$14,000 in good faith on constructi
of the yard, it would be the best
thing to go ahead and locate the ya
at that location, but providing
better fencing, landscaping, etc.,
so as to make. it more amenable to t
single family homeowners living in
the vicinity.
Discussion ensued on the stop work
orders which were allegedly placed
on the yard's construction by staff
members, however this could not be
verified definitely. Mr. Harris did
request that Mr. Schumacher cordon
off the Gold Creek area with chain
link fencing to avoid hazards.
Staff has concluded that the bulk of
the evidence indicates that a boat
and trailer storage yard is to be
built in the present location.
-9-
