It <br />was his opinion that Stonedale Drive <br />in the vicinity of the yard is of <br />;itself unattractively maintained by <br />~~those same homeowners complaining <br />about the appearance of the yard. <br />The other members in the audience, <br />Messrs. Sam Portillo and Jim Frye, <br />commented briefly on their positions <br />regarding the undesirability of the <br />RV yard in its present location.. <br />The Chairman thanked the speakers fo <br />the thoroughness of the information <br />presented by them. <br />Mr. Braden of MacKay & Somps, had no <br />solutions to offer at this time. <br />Commissioner Garrigan recalled that <br />the department was in the midst of <br />personnel changes at the time <br />Stoneson's PUD went before the <br />Commission for review. He presented <br />his recollection of the .proceedings <br />at that time. The location for the <br />yard was discussed and other sites <br />were suggested. Because of the en- <br />suing confusion, he admitted that th <br />City had to accept their share of <br />responsibility for the problems. <br />Commissioner Butler stated that so <br />far he has not heard anyone discuss <br />how the present size of the lot was <br />determined. Also, what prompted the <br />developer to suddenly begin its <br />development at this point. Commis- <br />sioner Garrigan replied that the <br />Commission did choose its location; <br />its size was determined from recom- <br />mendations of the previous Planning <br />Director who had had similar exper- <br />iences. <br />-11- <br />
