He did not feel that staff' <br />recommendations would hinder them if <br />everyone is speaking the same languag . <br />Next, applicant's counsel, Steve <br />Hallgrimson, spoke. He discussed the <br />alternatives and ramifications of a <br />planned unit development. He felt <br />that the last two conditions on the <br />list presented at the hearing that <br />evening would not be too advantageous <br />He requested that it not be part of <br />the proceedings. He wished to discus <br />them with the Deputy City Attorney. <br />.Regarding Condition No. 3, he felt <br />ithat with an adequate planned unit <br />'development ordinance the condition <br />I~could be handled. <br />Commissioner Jamieson felt that the <br />doctors offices should not occur prio <br />to the hospital. <br />In summary, Mr. Braden stated that <br />they would want Conditions 2 and 3 <br />deleted, and would prefer to have the <br />PUD "overlay" staff recommended de- <br />leted. <br />Objections were raised by: <br />Alan Grossman, legal counsel for Dr. <br />Schlies (owner of building further <br />south on the east side of Santa Rita <br />Road). Mr. Grossman is a resident of <br />Pleasanton. He stated that this fac- <br />ility presently has over 14,000 squar <br />feet of vacant office space. He won- <br />dered how the project would operate i <br />they had to go in without sewer capac - <br />ty and had to operate on holding tank . <br />-3- <br />iI <br />
