A motion was offered by Commissioner 69ood denying this request and
seconded by Commissioner Jamieson. This motion failed as Commissioners
Doherty, Shepherd and Chairman Butler voted no.
Deputy City Attorney indicated that the matters which are exempted
are inconsequential in nature, being a perfunctory bureaucratic motion.
Resolution No. 1471 was then offered and adopted recommending to the
City Council that Planning Commission be exempted from those sections
of Government Code 65402(a), pertaining to review of certain acquisi-
tions and dedications of real property.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Shepherd
Seconded: Doherty
Ayes: Doherty, Shepherd
Noes: Jamieson, Wood
Absent: None
Abstain: None
and Chairman Butler
Vintage Hills Park Master Plan - Presentation by Park and Landscape
Designer. This master plan for Vintage Hills Park was described by
Mr. Al Dutchover of the City's Engineering Department (Park and
Landscape Division).
The attempt here was to capitalize on the existing natural setting.
The-usual amenities such as barbecue pits, picnic tables, tot play
areas, would be provided, as would foot and bike trails and a pedes-
trian bridge. Attempts would be made to save as many of the existing
trees as possible, including two valley oaks.
Preliminary cost estimate, including irrigation system and Zone 7
fees, are set at $100,000, of which $13,000 would be for Zone 7. A
wooden fence on the easterly site would be provided but left open
where it faces the school site. The automatic sprinkler system will
cost about $5,000 per acre. The City intends to apply for a grant
under SB 174. City Council would budget $12,500.
Time schedule is for development about one year away. After work
begins, it should take approximately 60 calendar days. The work is
intended to be completed in phases, with the Park and Recreation
Commission requesting that it begin with the northern portion of
the park site.
Some brief discussion took place regarding the number of uncompleted
parks in the City.
Resolution No. 1472 was then entered and adopted recommending to City
Council approval of the master plan for Vintage Hills Park as presented.
-10-
