Resolution 1573 was entered and adopted recommending to the City Council the
adoption of RZ-77-13, as petitioned.
Roll Call Vote
kesolution: Wood
Seconded: Shepherd
Ayes: Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Noes: None
Absent: Doherty, Jamieson
Abstain: None
Z-77-131, Carole Maxson - application to renew a home occupation permit to
allow piano lessons at a residence at 795 Mirador Court; zoning for the pro-
perty is R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District.
The staff report was reviewed by Secretary Harris. Because there were no
complaints from the neighbors in the year that the permit has been in effect,
staff felt that it would be appropriate to allow Mrs. Maxson to continue
with the home occupation, subject to the conditions in the October 12, 1977,
staff report.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Mr. Chuck Maxson spoke for the application. He said that their original in-
tent was to increase the number of students so that they could locate in a
commercial area. They had been approached by some individuals to open up a
studio, but could not work out the arrangements. In order to maintain a
12-month business, they would also require equipment sales, etc., and more
than the 75 students they now have.
The Commissioners ascertained from the applicant that no equipment sales
would take place from the home. Mr. Maxson emphasized that if they are able
to relocate to a commercial address, they intend to do so. In the meanwhile,
they are requesting a permit for an indefinite period of time.
The Public Heaing was closed.
The Commissioners agreed that the permit would be appropriate as presently
being conducted from the Maxson's home.
Resolution 1574 was entered and adopted approving the renewal of the home
occupation permit for Mrs. Maxson subject to the conditions in the staff
report.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Shepherd
Seconded: Wood
Ayes: Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Noes: None
Absent: Doherty, Jamieson
Abstain: None
-3-
