TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION MAPS
Review of Tentative Tract Map #3966 - Darwin Datwyler
Chairman Butler asked Deputy City Attorney Levine what was the significance
of tentative tract maps in this particular case. P4r. Levine replied that
State law requires subdivision review. At the subdivision review stage,
certain conditions not applicable at PUD design stage can be applied.
Mr. George Allen of William Black & Associates in Dublin, spoke for the
application. He had questions concerning channel right-of-way for dedication
to Alameda County Flood Control District with provisions for an access
easement to the City for recreational use of the area, and timing for and
specifications of the trail construction. He then discussed the requirement
for in-lieu park dedication fees and whether it would be possible to receive
credit for these fees. Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services replied
that the City would be hard pressed to make a determination that a trail
system is comparable to a neighborhood park facility.
Resolution 1606 was entered and adopted approving Tentative Map Tract 3966,
Darwin Datwyler, subject to all the conditions in the staff report.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Wood
Seconded: Shepherd
Ayes: Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Noes: None
Absent:. Council Liaison Member Ken Piercer advised the Commission that the City
Council, in their review of the Northway DowrK project, the evening before,
expressed displeasure with the park design This matter is scheduled to be
reviewed by the Park and Recreation Commission, then again by the Planning
Commission.
B. Council Liaison bRember Mercer then indicated that the City Council was
presented with a petition by Christine Pearson from residents in the Mission
Park and Rosepointe developments, requesting a bike trail along Sunol Boule-
vard.
Commissioner Shepherd, a member of the Human Services Commission, confirmed
that Ms. Pearson had requested specific funding to establish such a trail
system along that road.
P~iATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION
A. Secretary Harris stated that at a previous Park and Recreation meeting,
the members felt it would be advantageous to form an ad hoc committee of
two Planning Commission and two Park and Recreation Commission members. The
purpose of the committee would be to discuss bike trails. Discussion would
center on priorities.
-9-
