UP-77-25, Norman Zimmerman - application of Carden-West Elementary School <br />for a conditional use permit to allow the operation of a private elementary <br />school at the Trinity Lutheran Church facilities located at the intersection <br />of Hopyard and Golden Roads. Zoning for the property is P (Public and <br />Institutional) District. <br />Secretary Harris explained the staff report, recommending approval of the <br />application until September 1, 1978. <br />The Public Hearing was opened. <br />Mr. Zimmerman was present and concurred with the staff recommendation. <br />Upon request of Chairman Butler regarding the operation of the school and <br />background on their teaching system, r7r. Zimmerman described the sequential <br />development techniques they utilize which results in very high achievements. <br />Generally, the children were two years ahead of their grade level. <br />The Public Hearing was closed. <br />Resolution 1597 was entered and adopted approving the conditional use permit <br />application subject to staff conditions and required findings. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Resolution: Wood <br />Seconded: Shepherd <br />Ayes: Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Doherty <br />Abstain: None <br />UP-77-22, City of Pleasanton <br />Review of negative declaration for construction and operation of a sewage <br />effluent pump station located along the west side of the Western Pacific <br />Railroad tracks south of Bernal Avenue. <br />The Public Hearing was opened on the negative declaration review. <br />There were no comments and the Fublic Hearing was closed on the negative <br />declaration review. <br />Resolution 1598 was entered and adopted making the finding that the project <br />would not have a significant impact on the environment and that a negative <br />declaration would be prepared. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Resolution: Shepherd <br />Seconded: Wood <br />Ayes: Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Doherty <br />Abstain: NOne <br />-4- <br /> <br />
