pLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br />April 11, 1979 <br />UP-79-7, New Life Fellowship Church <br />Application for a conditional use permit to allow the operation of a daycare <br />facility to be located in a new 9,480 sq. ft. two-story addition to the existing New <br />Life Fellowship Church located at 3200 Hopyard Road. Zoning for the property <br />is RM-1500 (Multiple Residential) District. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report recommending approval. <br />Public hearing was opened. <br />Jim Hogue, representing the New Life Fellowship Church spoke. He stated they had <br />determined there was a great need for daycare services in Pleasanton. <br />Commissioner Geppert stated he didn't recall any plans for a daycare service in the <br />original plans. Mr. Hogue said it wasn't mentioned. He did state their plan now is <br />for 100 children with a playground and a building which conforms to State requirements <br />for childcare. Mr. Harris spoke to the Ark Daycare facility and the fact there <br />were 70 children in a converted house and that this had worked out well. <br />Public hearing was then closed. <br />A motion was then made by Commissioner Wilson that UP-79-7 be approved as all findings <br />could be made in granting this use permit. This motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Geppert. <br />Resolution No. 1734 was then entered and adopted. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />Ayes Commissioners Doherty, Geppert, Getty, Wilson and <br />Chairman Jamieson <br />Noes None <br />Abstain None <br />As it was 11:20 pm a vote was taken by the Commission members to determine whether or <br />not to continue. He stated that <br />out of all the Del Prado property originally owned by MacKay this portion of land is <br />the only portion retained by Mr. Mackay. He stated this property has been zoned C-N <br />for 12 years, taxes have been paid on commercial property and that if zoned to R-l, it <br />would result in high improvement costs. He stated there are 25 sewer connections for <br />the rpoperty with no way to increase that number. He also stated that the watermain <br />is oversize.
