Mr. <br />Falender spoke to additional cost on subdivisions. He feels it is <br />arbitrary to put them in. Chairman Jamieson stated he doesn't see how <br />we can do otherwise. Council Member Brandes stated plans are given to <br />PG&E then to Engineering and then it is reviewed. He stated he will <br />bring this matter up to City Council at the next meeting to establish <br />a policy for PG&E and light plans. He stated Chairman Jamieson's point <br />is well taken. Commissioner Wilson stated no street lights could hinder <br />sales, and a policy needs to be established. Falender suggested that <br />perhaps street lights could be cut down to one half. Chairman Jamieson <br />stated this doesn't give the people the option of turning on the lights. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Wilson moved approval of Tentative Map, Tract 3458 and this <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner Leppert. <br />Resolution No. 1711 was then entered and adopted approving Tentative <br />Map, Tract 3458 subject to the conditions shown in the staff report of <br />January 10, 1979. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Resolution: Commissioner Wilson <br />Seconded: Commissioner Geppert <br />Ayes: Commissioner Doherty, Geppert, <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Getty, Wilson and Chairman Jamieson <br />Large Residential Lot Zoning Study <br />After a motion by Chairman Jamieson, the Planning Commission agreed to <br />have a study session concerning this subject January 22, 1979, Monday <br />night, Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. <br />Reduction in Planning Commission Work load <br />Bob Harris explained the staff report and the request of Commissioner <br />Wilson sometime back to see ways to reduce the workload. Chairman <br />Jamieson stated he felt perhaps some publicity should be given this <br />regard to obtain peoples reactions. Council Member Brandes inquired <br />whether or not this action would come before the City Council and <br />Mr. Harris replied that it would. Mr. Harris explained the initiation <br />of the zoning code amendments to effect this would require a public <br />hearing, and this is just a study at this point. Commissioner Wilson <br />stated his suggestion to reduce the work load simply meant to eliminate <br />some small items at the Board of Adjustment level which could be handled <br />administratively and not to eliminate the Board of Adjustment. He <br />stated he was referring to setbacks and tyis type of situation. He <br />thought a list could be made to accommodate this.
